Robert Brelsford Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Fredrick Brelsford, son of Charles Fredrick Brelsford and Emma Donelson Brelsford was born October 12, 1920 near Perry, Iowa and died June 17, 2005 at the Perry Healthcare Center, Perry, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 5 days. Bob, as he was fondly known, attended rural school and then graduated from Perry High School in 1939. He attended Iowa State for a short time. Bob served with the Army during World War II, seeing action in the Pacific and receiving the Bronze Star. Bob married Mildred Morris December 10, 1948. They were parents of two children: Fred and D.J. Bob enjoyed farming and being a mechanic. He was very creative and could engineer and build things. Bob was a great "Fixer". He also enjoyed gardening, cards, and riding motorcycles. In addition to farming, Bob had worked as a mechanic for John Kling and then co-owned Bob and Don's Auto Repair with Don Kling. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred; son Fred; sisters Mary Tilton and her husband Cecil and Hazel Shearer and her husband Kenny; brothers John and Martin. his sister-in-law Phyllis Brelsford and brothers-in-law Larry Morris amd Ronald Baldridge. Bob is survived by his daughter D.J. Bier and her husband Loren of Alexander, Iowa; daughter-in-law Lisa Brelsford of New Sharon, Iowa: 5 grandchildren: Derrick, Shane and Libby Brelsford of New Sharon, Iowa; Pam Betz of Davenport, Iowa and Sarah Betz of Alexander, Iowa. He is also survived by his brother David Brelsford of Perry, Iowa; sister Grace Baldridge of California; brothers-in law: Charles Morris and his wife Virginia of Perry, Iowa and Eldon Morris and his wife Elaine of Perry; sisters-in-law Polly Brelsford of Pennsylvania and Pat Walling of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
