Larry D. Deeth Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Larry Duane Deeth, son of Duane Kenneth Deeth and Dorothy Bell Carstens Deeth, was born March 8, 1942 in Coon Rapids, Iowa He died unexpectedly on November 18, 2005 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 10 days. Larry was raised in rural Coon Rapids and attended school in Coon Rapids. In the early 1960's, he moved to Perry and began working for Oscar Mayer. In 1962, Larry was united in marriage to Barbara Myers. Larry and Barbara were blessed with 3 children: Tammy, Jeffrey, and Teresa. The couple divorced in 1983. He was employed by Oscar Mayer for 28 years as a supervisor. In 1977, he began working for Dr. Beattie's agriculture businesses as manager. As an avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. His family was most important to him. He loved to travel and spend time with them. He was also quite good at storytelling. Larry also enjoyed having coffee with his many friends. Larry was a member of the Moose Lodge and was also a volunteer fireman. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Duane Deeth; sister Barbara Deeth (in infancy); sister Nancy Heisterkamp and brother-in-law Donald Heisterkamp. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Deeth of Coon Rapids; his children: Tammy Salisbury (Brian) of Omaha, Nebraska, Jeffrey Deeth of Auburndale, Florida and Teresa Deeth of Ankeny; grandchildren: Jeffrey and Laura Salisbury of Omaha, Nebraska; brother: Michael Deeth (Patricia) of Coon Rapids; his nieces and nephews: Ashley, Bryce and Caylor Deeth, Robbie and Brian Heisterkamp and Tonya Storesund (Quinten); special friend: Cathy Strand; many other relatives and a host of friends.
