Anna Boldt

Anna Marie Baier Boldt, daughter of Louis Baier and Marie Jensen Baier, was born May 11, 1920 in Exira, Iowa and died February 14, 2005 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 3 days. Anna grew up and attended school in Exira, Iowa. After Anna finished school, she stayed at home and helped with housework around the house. On April 12, 1940 Anna was united in marriage to Arthur William Boldt in Audubon, Iowa. They were the proud parents of two daughters: Lois and Phyllis. They made their home in Audubon until moving to Scranton in 1954. In 1960 the family moved to Jefferson where Anna has lived since. Anna stayed busy being a homemaker, spending many hours cleaning and ironing. Anna loved to sew and quilt. She also had a love for baking and often made cookies for the Home State Bank. Anna was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson and a member of the Esther Circle. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur; 1 granddaughter: Jennifer Dowd; 1 sister: Katherine Jensen; 1 brother: Norman Baier. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Lois Strawn and her husband Ron of Jefferson, Iowa and Phyllis Bunkers and her husband Randy of Jefferson, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Gary Strawn and his wife Suzanne of Des Moines, Iowa, Craig Strawn and his wife Brandy of Jefferson, Iowa, Aaron Dowd of Chicago, Illinois and Michael Dowd of Jefferson, Iowa; 4 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Dustin and Kaitlyn Strawn all of Des Moines, Iowa and Raina Gordon of Jefferson, Iowa; son-in-law: Larry Dowd of Jefferson, Iowa; 1 sister: Vera Nielsen of Exira, Iowa; 1 brother-in-law: Walter Boldt of Audubon, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
